Antenatal Yoga Classes: What to Expect
Prenatal yoga classes can be entirely beneficial to you and your baby. It can help to keep you in shape but also be easy on your baby, thus giving you the exercise that you need and the peace of mind that you want to gain from a yoga class.
It is appropriate to attend a prenatal yoga class once you enter the second trimester of your pregnancy, which would be any time after fourteen weeks. It will provide you with a social outlet and allow you to meet other mothers to be and share pregnancy stories, hopefully make a few new friends. Prenatal yoga can open up your social circle to include other new mothers intending to improve their fitness in a safe and relaxed fashion.
The positions used in prenatal yoga are modified yoga positions, however it is very important to listen to your instructor’s opinions in regard to your ability for certain poses. Depending on how far along you are, you may feel dizzy or uncomfortable and at that time it is very important to know when to stop.
