Kids Dance Classes: Hip- Hop Dancing
If you have young children it is unlikely you will have no knowledge of the tween sensation that is Television shows such as Hannah Montana and High School Musical. Both the Disney Channel and Nickelodeon have recently premiered new shows which concentrate not only on singers but dancers too. Children being children, the likelihood of them wanting to follow in these brightly coloured larger-than-life characters is high. Hip Hop dance classes are one of the many ways they choose to follow this ambition. Hip hop classes come highly recommended as childhood obesity goes on the rise. Hip hop dance classes are a fun way for children to keep active while also having fun.
Hip Hop classes are generally centred upon fun and informality however the structure of the classes is generally sound. They are run on a term basis with many of them focusing on about three or more dance routines for the duration of the term. The children will have fun working their way through the steps of the class, learning a variety of routines, usually preparing them to showcase at the end of the term for their friends and family.
The pageantry of these classes appeals to children. They’re structured simply, when the kids arrive they take part in a variety of different warm- ups to loosen up their bodies. They normally perform a selection of jumping jacks, head to toe stretches and jazz runs. One their bodies are completely wormed up the teacher either takes them through a new dance or rehearse the dances which they have learned previously. Hip Hop dance focuses on contemporary urban beats and flowing modern movements. Reminiscent of pop stars and their signature concerts children will really enjoy the chance to participate in dance classes that focus on a more freestyle aspect of dance. Hip Hop dance classes also can participate in scrimmages and competitions with other schools which can give another fun aspect to your child’s new dance classes. They will be switching on pop music and dancing around their rooms with no abandon. Dance classes are a great way to help your child build confidence in themselves and their abilities.
